Welcome to the Orchard Bookshop .

We are an independent bookshop situated in the centre of Denby Dale, near Huddersfield.

With a wide range of new and secondhand books we are sure to have something to please everyone. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you with your purchase.

With access to over one million titles on next day delivery, and a comprehensive computer ordering system, we are able to obtain customer orders quickly and efficiently.

We are the main stockists of all local books, including the popular ‘Denby and District’ series by local historian Chris Heath

As the only Ordnance Survey Mapping and Data Centre in the area we can provide Ordnance Survey products including Planning Application maps while-you-wait, and larger scale location maps within a couple of days. We carry a large range of OS Landranger and Explorer maps in the shop, along with a wide range of walking books and guides.

Our experienced staff can search  for – and often find – that elusive out-of-print book that you have been searching for for years. Just ask us –  it’s free and it doesn’t matter if you don’t have all the details. Just let us know what you have and leave the rest to us.

We also sell electronic Book Tokens, redeemable nationwide, and provide a black and white photocopying service.
